Last week, Qcells’ Kimberly Richardson, recycling assistant manager, introduced Vice President Kamala Harris at the company’s event celebrating a historic community solar announcement.
“Like so many of my colleagues, I grew up in this area, a region most people knew and still do as the carpet capital of the world,” she said in her remarks.
“After graduating from high school, I moved away for a while. But I returned home and earned two college degrees. In 2018, when my mother got sick, I knew I needed a good-paying, secure job to support my family. That’s why I joined QCells, a solar panel manufacturer who was building one of the largest solar factories, right here in Dalton.”
“I knew I’d have a future here because America’s future is powered by clean energy.”
