Why is clean energy important to you? I believe in an "all and above" approach (quote by B. Obama) to energy and supporting growth of renewables while balancing the transition from traditional energy in a respectful manner.
What's a memorable clean energy project you’ve worked on? 1500 ac. land acquisition program for a solar project developer in SE Minnesota. From zero land control to now watching the project in late stage planning. More recently prospecting and land acquisition / community engagement for a large hydrogen plant site in NE.
What did you do prior to working in clean energy? Why did you transition to the clean energy industry? Worked in various roles in CAN and US on natural gas and oil pipeline systems and projects.
What do you wish more people knew about the clean energy industry? It cuts across every state in the nation for production, distribution, storage and can be a path to both energy security while meeting clean energy targets. Value of clean energy are found — down to individual residences to large utility scale projects.
Why should congress invest in clean energy jobs? A path for building skilled trades and a multitude of other jobs supporting renewables in every state. Supports energy security and a diversity of where we get and use energy.
Is there anything else you’d like to share? I grew up in an area of western Canada known for oil, gas, coal and timber production. My Dad spent 25 years in the thermal coal mining business. I honor the past where I grew up and where I spent 30 year of my career, but also enjoy embracing learning and growing in the clean energy transition.
