Why is clean energy important to you? It's amazing how you're able to use the sunlight for energy. It's fascinating, we get sun every day so it's truly amazing that we're able to get energy from the sun and convert it into clean energy.

What's a memorable clean energy project you’ve worked on? What’s memorable is the elderly, that’s what really drives me. It's amazing just seeing their faces when they flip on the light switch for the first time. They're so happy to see me when I do a 90 day visit, and they remember me and say “hey yázhí,” which is how we greet each other. That's just how we greet our elderly. So that relationship is amazing.

What did you do prior to working in clean energy? Why did you transition to the clean energy industry? I was a construction laborer when I was younger. Then I went to college and I chose electrician trade school, so I went on to be an electrician. My instructor at the time advised me to go into renewable energy, so I gave it a shot and that's how I transitioned into renewable energy.

What do you wish more people knew about the clean energy industry? That it's an investment but it's affordable in the long run. It's easy to transition from the grid to renewable energy to. I wish more people could learn more about the cost effectiveness. Just on the basic system you could make your money back in around four years minimum. From there you just make your money back.
