Why is clean energy important? Accelerating the clean energy transition is essential to sustain our natural ecosystems and limit the human suffering caused by climate change.
What’s your proudest accomplishment in clean energy? My proudest accomplishment so far has been helping develop a comprehensive customer engagement offering Utilities can use to effectively engage their energy customers, drive adoption of grid edge products and services, and orchestrate customer demand - ultimately empowering customers to play a meaningful role in Utility clean energy strategy implementation.
What did you do before entering clean energy? I served in the Marine Corps for six years as an intelligence officer in infantry units.
How did you first get introduced to clean energy? I was introduced to clean energy by my dad who spent his career in the energy sector and was an early leader in demand response. It’s great to share this with him, in the same way it was great to share my military service with my uncle and brother.
How does clean energy impact your community? Colorado has a great renewable energy base and the clean energy transition represents a meaningful environmentally responsible economic growth opportunity. Our beautiful natural landscapes that are vulnerable to climate impacts - advancing the clean energy transition is one way to help mitigate these impacts.
What is something you wish more people knew about your job? The clean energy sector is a great place for veterans - you’ll find yourself surrounded by mission-driven people seeking to solve a complex and meaningful problem full of interrelated engineering, market, and geopolitical components.
Why should Congress invest in clean energy? Investment in clean energy jobs de-risks falling behind overseas competitors and presents a meaningful opportunity for US global leadership in one of the preeminent challenges of our time.
