Why is clean energy important to you? I finally feel like I am a part of something bigger than myself. I am part of a clean tech revolution that is bringing a cleaner planet and stronger economy to all. At EnPower, we are building better batteries and a solid foundation for the swift transition to tomorrow's technology. As EnPower and other battery suppliers ramp up to underpin the transition to renewables, the world becomes a cleaner planet.
What’s your proudest accomplishment in clean energy? Beginning my career with a smaller team has allowed me the ability to work in various aspects of the company. I have learned and accomplished more in just over a year with EnPower than if I worked for a large company.
What did you do before entering clean energy? I worked for my school, Washington State University, as a graphic designer.
How did you first get introduced to clean energy? I've always wanted to bring together technology with a better world. The best way to change society is to create a future that we can feel proud of. I joined EnPower because it combined my love for marketing/design and my passion for the environment. Plus, EnPower first introduced me to a battery solution in which I saw potential. Joining this company as a startup has allowed me to learn firsthand from strong executives and engineers.
How does clean energy impact your community? EnPower is a U.S.-based company with the potential to supply several electric mobility applications worldwide. EnPower's multilayer technology is a breakthrough in the way people view lithium-ion batteries today. Now that we have an 800 MWh facility in Indiana, this year, we will have the ability to supply to various companies around the world. We are on the cusp of a new era in energy. Electric vehicles and renewable energy sources will be the key drivers to a more sustainable planet. Lithium-ion batteries are becoming the overwhelmingly favored technology for automotive and grid industries.
What is something you wish more people knew about your job? Electric mobility is the future. I believe EnPower is on its way to being a top lithium-ion battery supplier in the United States.
Why should Congress invest in clean energy jobs, not fossil fuel jobs? Congress should invest in clean energy by bringing manufacturing back to the US. By doing so, all sorts of jobs are created for all levels of workers, and the sooner that people see that the clean energy transition creates jobs, the faster they will come on board and support the transition by buying EVs, installing solar, and supporting the large-scale transition to renewable fuels.
