Why is clean energy important to you? I want to do my part in making sure the green transition includes low-income communities like the one I came from. PLUS, who doesn't want a cleaner, greener Earth and some more affordable energy?!
What’s your proudest accomplishment in clean energy Supporting our fundraising efforts and helping to communicate the importance and impact of our work to keep Solstice growing through our latest chapter — expanding clean energy access as a MyPower company.
What did you do prior to working in clean energy? I was a writer for a local news station, but felt I could have a greater impact on my community working in clean energy.
How did you first get introduced to clean energy? I used to be obsessed with wind turbines!
What do you wish more people knew about the clean energy industry? That community solar is not too good to be true, but the most equitable and affordable type of clean energy!
What does your job mean to you and your family? My job challenges me, I'm constantly learning, I'm able to grow with the company & the growing industry we're in and it gives me an avenue through which to help people and the planet.
How is clean energy helping your community / state? Solstice is helping people access solar, many for the first time, and allowing them to save money on their monthly utility bills. In total, Solstice customers save about $2M per year through community solar. We work in several states including MA, NY, NJ, IL & MN and plan to expand to several other states next year.
Why should congress invest in clean energy jobs? Studies show investing in renewable energy creates more jobs than backing fossil fuels, decreasing our reliance on fossil fuels could positively impact our energy independence, make energy more affordable for Americans, help mitigate the adverse effects of climate change, the list goes on!
