ConnectDER Panel

Philadelphia-based ConnectDER, a leading provider of technology to make renewable energy more accessible, convened a group of state and local experts on Wednesday, August 28th to discuss the growing clean energy economy in Pennsylvania. The event came on the heels of the second anniversary of the historic August 2022 passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which has already spurred 300,000 new, family-sustaining clean energy jobs across the U.S. – including 3,000 in Pennsylvania.

Participants in the panel discussion included Emily Schapira, President & CEO of The Philadelphia Energy Authority; Micah Gold-Markel, Founder & President of Solar States; and Jon Knauer, VP of Policy & Market Strategies at ConnectDER.

At the event, ConnectDER also provided an update to civic and elected leaders about its patented Meter Socket Adapters (MSAs), technology that enables easy solar and EV interconnection. ConnectDER’s Vice President of Product Dan Falcone demonstrated how the Meter Socket Adapter is installed and answered questions specific to the technology and its utilization.

Founded in 2011, ConnectDER partners with licensed electricians, solar installers, and/or participating utility meter technicians to install its MSAs, which allow for easy, residential solar and EV interconnection at a fraction of the typical time and cost. Today, nearly 25,000 MSAs have been installed throughout 19 states.

A number of local, state, and federal officials attended the open house, including
State Representative Jordan Harris, Philadelphia City Councilwoman Jamie Gauthier and representatives from Governor Shapiro’s Southeast Regional Office and the Pennsylvania Office of Small Business Advocate.
