Clean Energy Spotlight: Kevin Doffing

Our latest #CleanEnergySpotlight is Kevin Doffing, a  U.S. Army veteran and #wind and #cleanenergy expert. He leads the Atlantic Council’s Veterans Advanced Energy Project, which seeks to get more military veterans into clean energy.

Doffing’s military experience enabled him to understand the importance of energy security. He was deployed to Iraq. “I saw firsthand what energy insecurity means at a personal and national level.”

As platoon officer, Doffing was tasked with distributing diesel to families. “It was at this time I learned the critical nature that energy plays on a stable economy and knew that I wanted to dedicate my life to the energy sector,” he told the Atlantic Council.

Today, Doffing is chief commercial officer for Blacksheep Ventures which provides staff and equipment to companies looking to service their #wind, #solar, and #battery storage technologies.

This all matters to him because it matters to people. “I want the energy transition to be a just transition that lifts up humanity by empowering individuals to increase their quality of life.”
